Prunus avium 'Bing'

The standard that sweet cherries are judged against - introduced in 1875 and still growing strong! The deliciously large, firm black cherry that eastern Washington is famous for.

It grows well in dry climates but the fruit may crack if rain comes during harvest time. Needs a pollinizer, which can be any other sweet cherry variety except Lambert, Royal Ann or Napoleon.

    No, they are incompatible.

    Yes that will work fine.

    The graft union will be roughly 3 inches above the soil after planting. In thoery you can graft onto the Bing itself as an interstem.

    Roughly 4'-5' tall.

    Yes it can!

    Not at all. You need another sweet cherry for cross pollination.
