Mary Jane Peach-total loser

Never got a single peach. Total peach leaf curl disease magnet. Frost produced for a few years before succumbing to disease. Oregon curl free still producing peaches after 18 years in a not ideal site

Still alive

I've had this tree five yrs. and it has produced the last 2 yrs., but this yr. I bagged the fruit in mesh because they are big and beautiful and plentiful. I've had bugs attack it and it is still going unlike a weaker peach tree I got from a local nursery. They are a little hard until they ripen fully. It's growing in a hot dry climate zone 9A Northern CA.

Something different

I am in zone 8b, dry farming at 2,000' elevation. Mary Jane is one of my favorite peaches. It waits to flower, which helps with pollination. The fruit tastes like oranges or mangos. It is something different! It has been more resilient to disease compared with other peaches I grow (i.e. it bounces back). The fruits have been constantly small, however - snack size. More people should try this peach.
