Rubus idaeus 'Caroline'

Vigorous and full of healthful nutrients and antioxidants, this heavy-yielding, everbearing red raspberry produces loads of delicious fruit on primocanes from late August until fall, then on the same canes (now floricanes), in the late spring/early summer of year two. The wonderfully tasty fruit is large, red and firm, and can hold for up to a week in the fridge.

Proven successful from coast to coast, Caroline responds well to warmer summer temperatures by ripening earlier. Canes can be exceptionally long, to 9', and can benefit from trimming before top flowers set in early summer.

Hardy to USDA Zone: 5

Mature Height:  9' (Large)

Sun: Full Sun

Ripening Time: Early July, then September - October

Pollination: Self Fertile

Caroline Raspberries

The plants arrived timely, packaged very well. It is hard to know what they will do as he 8 inch long sticks have no buds yet and the bark is peeling some. They are in the ground waiting for the warmer days and sunshine.

Growing beautifully!

The Caroline was planted 8 weeks ago and is growing beautifully alongside several other different raspberry canes. I am pleased with its vigorous growth. I look forward to a future harvest of fresh, delicious raspberries.

Best tasting raspberry, ever!

These are the best tasting raspberries I have ever had. The flavor is sweet-tart with a full raspberry flavor. Nothing halfway here! They are usually easy to grow. My parents had them in their garden in the fog belt north of San Francisco, and we are growing them (in pots with some shade) in the high desert in the mountains of southern California. They do spread vigorously by root runners, but the berries are so good we don’t mind having extra plants!
