Rubus parviflorus

Thimbleberry is a Pacific Northwest native, related to the raspberry. Thimbleberry produces small, bright red fruits shaped like the top of a thimble. In the spring they display with white, 1' mildly fragrant flowers appearing on the erect, thornless 4-6' canes that grow in thickets. Come summer, the harvest of rich, tangy fruit arrives - the flavor is strong and the berries are tender and melt in your mouth!

Plants thrive in full or partial shade, and prefer moist, acidic-to-neutral soils.

Waiting for signs of growth

My thimbleberry arrived on 4/21, I planted it on 4/23. It's 5/3 and I don't see any buds. Other plants that I received are growing or showing signs of small buds. I sure hope this one is okay. I planted it outside, in good soil. I've given it some water (when needed). (It's been rainy). The nearby blackberries are growing like crazy so the location is good for berries.

Very bad service

Made me wait for weeks and weeks and then sent when we had more than 2 weeks of snow and freezing weather predicted. have not been able to plant them. Tried to telephone. No one would come to phone. Left negative review and person who responded lied and said it was a potted plant rather than bare root. Terrible experience!!!!!
