Vaccinium agustifolium x corymbosum 'Chippewa'

This Northern lowbush blueberry, also known as a "half-high", makes a great compact edible ornamental. The light blue berries are delightfully sweet and juicy. This release from the U of Minnesota grows to 3-4 feet tall and wide with an upright form. A mature plant produces 4-7 pounds of large, light blue, excellent flavored berries in the midseason. The foliage turns a fiery combo of orange, yellow and red each fall.

Offer standard chill hours of 1000+ for this very hardy bush. Soil with an acidic ph of 4.5 is ideal, high in organic matter up top and good drainage below; also offer regular water during dry summers and load up on the mulch!

Nice plant

This blueberry arrived in great condition. I planted in my prepared spot the next day. It seemed to be doing well, and then on the third day the local deer found it and managed to eat it down to about 3 inches tall. I think it'll still grow.
