Malus domestica 'William's Pride'

Highly rated for flavor, keeping quality and disease resistance. It ripens in early August and is one of the best of the early apples. The medium-sized, red fruit has a sweet, rich, spicy flavor.

The tree is very productive with strong, well-angled branches. Immune to apple scab and resistant to mildew, cedar rust and fireblight, it's also an early season bloomer with unusually long-lasting blossoms.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Will this cross pollinate Dorsett Golden Apples as they are also an early bloomer and summer Apple?

Yes, they cross pollinate fine, though William's Pride will not thrive in low chill areas.

  • Will this apple tree grow well in North Texas? Can you recommend the best fruit trees to grow in North Texas?

Texas is too hot for most apples. Mulberries, peaches, nectarines, apricots, some grapes, some cherries, and most plum hybrids all do well in Texas.

  • Will this tree cross pollinate with Honey Crisp?

No, they are too far apart in bloom times.

  • Hello, what is the recommended spacing for mini dwarf apple trees? Would 6-8’ be sufficient? I saw the height in the description, but no mention of how wide the trees will grow. Thank you!

Roughly 6 by 6 for width and spacing!

  • How much space does a mini-dwarf apple tree need? I see they can get to be 6' tall, but what is the reach of the branch and root system?

6' by 6' by 6' are the common dimsensions for a mini dwarf. Your own little apple cube!

  • what does mini dwarf means?

Mini dwarf means a tree roughly 30% of standard vigor.

Nicely shaped tree

For such a small thin tree, it leafed out, blossomed and produced a few small apples, which I took off. Wow, it is growing great for just 3 months. I like how the branches go out, leaving lots of air-flow: ideal for apple trees.

Healthy Baby Apple Trees

Trees arrived and were perfect. Got them in the ground and they’re already blooming and look extremely healthy. I’ve never ordered live plants and had them shipped before, so I was a little worried, but they were great! Would definitely order again!

Beautifuland healthy looking tree!

Bare root tree arrived in great shape. Was packaged with care and I have had many compliments on how great it looks. I can't wait to watch this beautiful tree grow and produce fruit.

Ridiculous

I planted a Williams Pride Apple Tree at my mothers home in North Central Montana roughly fifteen years ago. The tree was from Rain-tree nursery and the service was terrific with detailed planting instructions. long story short, the apples produced were the best I’ve ever eaten…ridiculously good. September is when they were harvested here in Montana and although the branches grow awkwardly, the fruit is amazing. Mom is gone now, but new trees have been added at my home.
