Sambucus nigra 'Haschberg'

We found this heavy-bearing Austrian variety in Switzerland. The black berries form in very large clusters on long stems. The bush is vigorous and spreading, growing to about 10 feet tall. It combines the flavor and medicinal qualities of the wild European black elder with heavy varietal production and larger fruit.

Grow with a different variety of S. nigra for increased fruit production.

USDA Zone: 4-9

Grow Height:  10' (Large)

Sun: Full Sun

Ripening Time: Late Summer

Pollination: Partially Self Fertile

Very impressed

I ve ordered live plants from five different companies; this was my first time doing so with Raintree. All for other companies had sent tiny, little saplings, basically just a twig with roots, so that s what I was expecting to receive from Raintree. The plant they sent, however, was a beautiful, young, but well-established bush that bloomed within days of planting! I was plum tickled!

Good job Raintree

Every one of the plants my wife ordered arrived packaged well and in good shape. No complaints about your packing.
All the plants are in cages free from the deer making lunch out of what we ordered. Both of us are looking forward to spring when they wake up from their winter sleep.
Presently they all seem to be doing well although 2 of them still have their leaves even after our first snow. I take this as a good sign.
Thanks for the speedy shipment.
We are looking forward to our order that is supposed to arrive in the spring
