Prunus domestica 'Cambridge Gage'

An original English Gage! Unlike most of the Gage family that ended up in England by way of Italy and then France, Cambridge Gage was selected as a seedling grown on English soil. Enjoy this uniquely-flavored, satisfying, rich Gage plum. Sweet, dense flesh is green and firm, and the skin greenish yellow with slight red blush. Also extra-juicy; a hallmark of the Gage family.

Partially self-fertile, the compact tree blooms with Rosy Gage and bears a heavy crop that ripens in late summer. Particularly cold hardy member of the family.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Would some fruit ripen in Coastal Southern California?

If it bloomed and set fruit, potentially. Gage plums need at least 700 chilling hours.

  • Hello there, If i buy a dwarf plum 4-5’… will it bears fruits next year? Thank you so much

Unlikely and even if it did, doing so might kill it. Any new fruit tree should be given at least 2, or more, years to establish a root system before spending energy setting fruit.

  • Do you have an dwarf plum tree 4 to 5 ft growth

A mini-dwarf rootstock for plums has not been developed. All of our plums are 4-5 feet tall when shipped and grow to 12'-15' tall at maturity.

High quality plant

I had ordered a plum tree. It was packaged so securely, the plant survived delivery and California weather. I planted it the very next day. Now, my plum is already sprouting new leaves. I am very happy with their service and I have already picked another tree to purchase. Thank you.

Cambridge gage bareroot tree looks good

I bought a three-year old Cambridge gage on St. Julian A rootstock. The four-foot tree arrived in great shape, pruned nicely and with no damage. I put it in the ground the next day, which was twelve days ago, and it seems to be thriving. Leaves have sprouted on every branch and twig and are growing fast, spurred on by a heat wave we're feeling in this region.

I am happy with the tree and looking forward to harvesting plums from it for years to come.
