(Nishimura wase) A richly flavored variety that ripens a month before Fuyu. It ripens in climates with summers too cool to consistently ripen Fuyu. The fruit is large and roundish. The tree is vigorous and easy to grow. It is called Coffee Cake for its rich flavor and brown flesh color when ripe. It is a non astringent pollination variant which means it develops its rich sweet flavor best when it is pollinized. Chocolate is the best pollinizer.
