QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • What apple variety is a good pollinizer for a Tomkins King?

Tompkins King is a late bloomer. Anything in the Mid-Late or Late season will work provided it is not a triploid. Check out our Apple Growing Guide for a full explination of polyploid apples and a bloom times chart for choosing a pollinizer.

  • We had an apple tree that my dad said was a King Apple. The skin felt like it had a wax. Does your King have a waxy surface on it's skin ?

Tomkins King is not typically waxy, while King David apples are usually waxy. Both are called King for short. This King is not waxy.
