An attractive, hardy, perennial vine native to the Eastern US, Maypop freezes to the ground in the winter and re-sprouts, flowers and bears a tasty two inch long fruit the next season. Hand pollinate for best fruit production. Enjoy the showy, sweet scented lilac and white colored passion flowers. Maypop can be grown where temperatures fall to minus 20 degrees Farenheit or below. In a very cold regions, mulching will help protect the root system. It needs a well drained soil.
