Sutherland Gold Elderberry (Fall)
(S. racemosa) This is a lovely yellow foliaged elderberry which is grown for its leaves and not its fruit. Each leaf is finely incised, giving the impression of a large (to 12') golden fern when grown in its favored location of bright shade or partial sun. This is one of the most scorch resistant yellow elders, but it can still burn in full sun! The color turns to lime green as the season progresses. It can really light up a shady corner! Flower clusters are pyramidal in shape, yielding to red berries.
