Arkansas Black Apple/MM106 [SPRING]

Named for its purple-red fruit, this popular heritage apple turns almost black when fully ripe. It is a favorite in the Midwest and upper South. It is an excellent keeping apple with firm, crisp flesh and a tart, aromatic flavor that mellows in storage. Apples ripen late in the season on trees that are somewhat resistant to cedar-apple rust and fireblight. USDA Zones 4-9.
