Jersey Beach plum/St Julian A
(Prunus maritima) This grafted American cultivar produces tasty red plums when pollenized by another beach plum, such as Premier (C310). As with all beach plums, crops are heavy some years and light others. The shrubby tree can grow to 15', but can be kept to 6' with pruning. Tolerant of salty spray, it prefers sandy soil. Beach plums bloom in early spring and usually don't set a crop in the Pacific Northwest.
