Avalon Pride Peach

I love my tree and hope that you read this and know that my tree came unharmed and it has beautiful new growth and I will be purchasing more in the future!!

Tree arrived in good condition with a great root system. The tree has great disease resistance and I haven't had any disease problems with it. The first year it didn't grow too much but this year it's gotten huge. I saw a couple of flowers this spring as well but no fruits. We should get fruit next year though.

I planted it and It is already starting to grow some leaves. Very healthy plant. Easy to see it is alive and no need for a scratch test.

I have been growing an Avalon Pride peach tree for 15 years The Avalon Pride is the most leaf curl and disease free peach I have grown and the peaches are very good tasting but I have been disappointed that this tree is not more productive.

Not as vigorous as my Frost peach or as prolific for fruit but planted in 2011 I have a good idea how this stacks up to my frost planted in 2013. The fruit is a little more consistent texturally and the diameter of the fruit is a little larger than my frost, good quality! However- the avalon pride never grows more than 3 feet of new wood, usually less where my frost will grow up to 8 feet new wood every season. Ill get 3/4 of a grocery sack full of fruit off the avalon 3 full bags from the frost. The avalon with a light pruning gets 7 to 8 feet tall, the frost gets up to 14 and 16 feet tall and I prune about 40 percent of the tree off every year to bring it back down to about 10-12 feet. After thinking about it I wonder if various levels of curl resistance in varieties is making the difference on vigor as I never spray for curl
