This hybrid is 3/4 apricot and 1/4 plum. The flesh is yellow and firm like an apricot but it has a combination of apricot and plum flavor. The fruit is two inches long. It ripens in mid July on a vigorous upright tree that can be maintained at about ten feet tall. It is self fertile (no boy cot is needed), but has biggest crops when pollinized by any apricot.

A patented Floyd Zaiger introduction recommended for USDA Zones 6 and above. Produced well at Mt. Vernon station. Less than 300 hours of chill needed.

Cold Hardy to USDA Zone: 6

Mature Height:  12'

Weirdly-pruned, scraggly upon delivery

I kind of wish they'd just sent me a grafted whip with no branches yet. The tree that I got had a couple of the side branches broken partially off upon delivery, and the remaining ones are looking like they might be a challenge to prune in the future as the tree grows. It's just now starting to leaf out, though, so I can't ask for a replacement. This isn't the robust type of tree I'm used to seeing when I open a Raintree box, but I'll see if it survives its first year in the ground.

Healthy plant - 100% satisfaction

Got bare root Aprium tree, 5 to 6 feet, in May 2025, plant arrived in last week of May 2025 with no leaves or buds on them, I was skeptical, package said “tree is not dead” so, planted as instructed, in two weeks it looks better than a potted tree I used to buy online.

They kept me updated about expected shipment date, two weeks ahead of time, it helped.

I’m extremely pleased about how a Bare plant with no leaves or buds that came in late spring good in two weeks

Growing nicely.

Ordered two Flavor Delight Apriums, prune them back to twelve inches , a month later, both flushed out with new growth and beautiful foliage. Highly recommend Raintree.

I am very happy with my happy little tree

I've had this tree in a pot for about a year to baby and get a good, strong root system. It has been in the ground for a bit and is greening out even more than last year. I am particularly happy with the pruning/branch angles that the tree had on arrival. This tree was obviously well tended to before it found a home in my garden. I'm excited to taste them, but if it flowers this year I will nip them so the roots grow in better. Overall I had a great experience with this grower and will buy from them again ^____^
