Gloire de Sablons Pink Currant

I have Gloire de Sablons Pink Currant. It is about 4 years old and has produced a handful or so of fruit in past years but has really struggled. The leaves turn brown on the edges as though its too hot or too dry. Many have dropped altogether. I do water it every other day in summer when our temps are consistently in the 90s. I am in central Oklahoma zone 7b. I have it planted on the east side if our home so it receives morning sun and afternoon shade. Our soil is clay, but I have amended it with peat moss (I no longer use it but was unaware of the ecological implications at the time) and have kept it mulched. In spring, I dug up a few shoots and potted them up. I'm wondering what should I do differently to help this plant succeed in my environment. Any help is appreciated.

You might install a shade cloth to protect them further and increase watering to daily until the plants roots establish deeper and wider than they have so far.

Would this pink currant variety be a good pollinator for the Missouri giant? I only have room for two and would love the Missouri giant and have the second one be something other than another black currant.

You will need a Ribes odoratum, which this is not. Crandall is the preffered pollinator.
