Named in 1902 after the new English monarch and grown since in English gardens as an outstanding fresh eating and cooking apple. This scab-resistant Blenheim Orange x Golden Noble flowers very late so it can miss early frosts. The large yellow-green fruit ripens in early October and cooks to a firm, well flavored translucent cream puree.
