Chinese Sweet Pit Apricot

I have done business with RainTree for years. This is the worst product ever sent. I wish you said you were out of stock.
Bamboo stick is mostly what you see not the spindly tree.

Arrived well-packaged, dormant as a rootball with a ~ 4.5 feet trunk leading up to a nice symmetric fork of two branches, in fine shape...

I planted and watered and green buds have started appearing just ~ 2 weeks later!

My two plants arrived a month ago as 1.2metre sticks and are now leafing out on a grand scale. The stock is vigorous and healthy. I'm at the Anarchist plateau in zone 4b, so if they can survive the occasional -30C I'll be tickled pink.

i just planted a second chinese sweet pit .. they seem to do well in the cold/hot, arid Oregon High Desert. i saw some apricots that had gone feral along the train tracks in Kamloops BC .. & these have been the closest i have found to those. very happy with the tree quality from Raintree .. vigorous & healthy & stress free. thanks!

We've ordered bare root trees from another online store many times and they were healthy looking and leafed out almost immediately. This, on the other hand, was a twig. It looked dead upon arrival and never grew a single leaf or nub. I definitely won't be ordering here again. Our other trees in the order have all grown but still look pathetic compared to those we ordered elsewhere (for cheaper).

I ordered a small tree because they do not suffer from transplant shock as much as larger trees when shipped barefoot. The small tree I got was a much larger tree that they chopped the top off of. Still no sign of any buds that could turn into leaves. Even if it eventually buds out, I'm worried it will not be able to store enough nutrients to survive the winter and leaf out next year.

Product arrived in good condition. Planted it approx a week ago and small leaf buds are already appearing. Very pleased.

Of all of the trees I ordered from multiple nurseries, this is the only one that never took off. It's dead. Has tag from Dave Wilson nursery. All of their other trees we got the same year just bloomed and have small fruit already here in East Coast zone 7B.

Zone 6, I planted my single-stem bare root Chinese Sweet Pit in April/23 and it is thriving with beautiful scaffold branches. I gave it a good pruning in January/24, and I am looking forward to seeing how much it grows this year. I love apricots, and the Sweet Pit kernels are a key bonus and the reason I chose this variety. I planted it 20' away from a Hunza also purchased from Raintree and planted at the same time. Both are about 40' from a Moorpark purchased locally in a pot.

It took a month to ship out after ordering, but well worth the wait! It looked like a long stick with only roots, no branches. I watered daily for a week and then one day ....leaf buds all the way from the ground, up to top.. I removed all the lower buds.. a couple weeks later its looking like a tree instead of a stick! Very Pleased!
