Prunus salicina x 'Cocheco'

A stunning red-leafed plum that is both beautiful and productive! It is an upright, vigorous tree with attractive, flavorful, round, pinkish-orange fruit with yellow flesh.

Developed by Elwyn Meader of New Hampshire, it is disease resistant, very winter hardy, and easy to grow. Ripens in late July. It needs an Asian plum as a pollinizer.

Lovely plum--looking forward to fruit

Plum tree was a bit dried out when it arrived and I was worried, but we followed instructions and it is now beginning to leaf out and seems OK. The color of the leaves is very nice.

We bought a selection of plums and apricots from Raintree last year, and all the plants arrived looking SUPER healthy and vigorous. All plants put on a ton of stem growth last year and survived the winter this year with no problems and no special care. No fruit yet, because it s only their second year, but we did actually get a few blooms this year! (We pulled them off so as not to weaken the tree too soon.)
