Reliable Almond

I recently purchased a Reliable Almond tree from Raintree Nursery, and I am beyond satisfied. The shipping was exactly as promised, with the tree arriving on time and in excellent condition. This tree is putting out some nice looking leaves after one week in the ground in zone 9A. Time will tell if it produces any nuts!

This tree appeared dead when I received it and after I planted it it only grew below the graft. When I told the people at Raintree I was told to send pictures and I did-3 of them. They then told me it MAY have been planted too deep-I have a 300 tree orchard and I know how to plant a tree plus the picture would have shown that mistake. Then they tole me the price had increased and with the new shipping it would end up costing me almost as much as the original tree AGAIN. Not overly pleased with them trying to blame me for their dead tree or paying double for a tree.

And growing well

I ordered 2 of these to go with my other large orchard purchases (~30 trees total). Most woke up from dormancy fine but 4 trees never woke up. One peach, one plum, and BOTH of my reliable almond trees. So much for "Reliable". I'll have to rip out and replace with something else next season. Definitely WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE.

Tree arrived in good shape. New sprouts are about two/three inches long and it is looking very good. Anxious to see some almonds in two/three years.
