Spalding European Pear

Planted the first one in 2005. It has been a regular bearer near Austin TX, so does well in the hot. Planted a second in 2018 and it just started bearing the last couple of years. Between the two got near 40 gallons of pears last year (really should have thinned out the big one). Not quite sure what is pollinating it though. Possibly the Ubileen pear that has never had fruit of its own, or maybe one of the neighbor's trees?

Arrived well packaged and in excellent condition.

Tree has a great shape with multiple branches. Took a while to leaf out but is making up for lost time.

My tree arrived well-packed and healthy, but the root system was sparse. I gave it a lot of TLC, and it is now well-leafed, but I can't help but believe that if it had been shipped with a more extensive root system, it would be doing better than it is.
