We love when this Super Hero comes to the rescue! An Autumn Olive from British Columbia selected for its abundant production of flavorful, nutrient-dense fruit. Makes healthy jelly, syrup, and wine - plus feeds nitrogen to its neighbors! My hero!

Autumn Olives are vigorous, nitrogen-fixing bushes to 15' tall and wide, that are loaded in the early summer with sweetly fragrant yellow/white flowers. Super Hero produces lots of tasty fruit in early fall that is very high in lycopene. Can be invasive in parts of the nation with warm and wet summers. Regularly shear the bush to initiate each pulse of nitrogen into the soil surrounding the plant.

    Autumn is a sweet-astrigengent berry that improves with some sugar when made into a jam or jelly. They are aggressive nitrogen fixing shrubs that grow quickly.

    It can for a time, but it will eventually, in several years, outgrow a container

    In the areas that it is prohibited yes, in other areas no. Climate and natural competition are major factors in determining if a plant becomes invasive or not.
