Aronia mitschurinii 'Raintree Select'

We started about 25 seeds from productive Russian aronia plants and all of them produced huge amounts of fruit. We selected this one as a winner among the resulting plants for its slightly more compact, bushy habit and good flavor. To 6-8 feet, can easily be kept shorter.

    Better dried than fresh.

  • Is this like a blueberry in taste and able to be eaten raw or in jams?

    Not at all. Aronia is best cooked and used as a coloring or filler for other products. It is extremely heathful, and makes a good jam on it's own, but is otherwise unlike a blueberry entirely.

  • What time of year do the berries ripen?

    Late summer typically, depending on your region.
