The venerable Jonkheer Van Tets is a parent of this extremely productive new Dutch variety. Fruit is excellent for cooking. The large fruit covers the bush, hanging in huge, glowing red clusters called strigs.
Red currants are self-fertile, but higher yields possible with a different variety of R. rubrum as a pollinizer. Prefers full sun in cool summer climates and part shade in warmer regions. Cold hardy to USDA Zone 3 (-40F).
