Chestnuts are majestic trees which live hundreds of years and each produces hundreds of pounds of nuts per year. Trees with European and American parentage may not be resistant to chestnut blight and should not be planted in areas where chestnut blight is prevalent - usually areas with wet and warm summer conditions. 

USDA Prohibits shipping chestnuts to Arizona.
