Currants have outstanding health benefits, including high Vitamin C content: up to 5 times that of oranges by weight. They have twice the potassium of bananas and twice the antioxidants of blueberries. The antioxidants, essential fatty acids and potassium in black currants especially have anti-inflammatory impact, reducing the effects of arthritis and preventing cancer. The strong flavor of currants is highly prized in Europe, even fresh, but most Americans prefer them made into jam, syrup or dried as raisins. 

State laws prohibit our shipping ALL Currants to DE, ME, NC, RI, VA and WV.  Orders to MA, MI, NJ and NH will need a permit for approved varieties to be shipped.  Only the rust-resistant varieties Titania, Minaj Smyriou, Kirovchanka, Risager and Prince Consort may go to OH. If you live in one of these states and believe your area may be exempt, please send us documentation from your state Dept. of Agriculture with your order.
