Prunus persica 'Sweet Bagel'

A flat, "donut" peach with yellow flesh! Sweet Bagel only requires 300-400 chill hours, so it's a great peach for our Southern friends. Late-midseason bloom helps avoid any unstable spring blossom damage. A reliable, heavy producer regularly sets crops of medium-large fruit that ripens late in the season. An especially good selection for folks with long, hot summers.

The skin boasts a clear yellow covered with light apricot, and the deep yellow flesh darkens to maroon where it meets the pit. This unusually large-fruited variety is sweet, rich and satisfying!

Soaked the bare root tree 24 hours before planting

Soaked the bare root tree 24 hours before planting the day after I received it. The roots were pretty dry and no wet shredded paper surrounding the roots. Hole was 24" deep and 24" around, filled hole with water the day before planting. Used Happy Frog potting soil mixed with native soil to fill hole. Still no buds or leaves on peach tree, jury is still out on condition and health of tree.
