Eclair Strawberry

I ordered 50 Eclair bareroot plants (as well as 3 other vendors). Your plants were the only order that arrived 100% healthy. After planting they all survived. Can't wait until they are ready. I suspect my location being close to Morton was a factor (60 miles away). The orders from 3 other vendors (east coast locations) were terrible. The success rate was less than 10% from those. Thank you Raintree for your superb quality.

I had placed my order back in the fall. Received my bareroot crowns they were in excellent condition and would purchase from them again.

Received my bundle promptly, but it only had 24 crowns. The size of the crowns was highly variable - about 4 of them were the biggest I’ve ever seen; about 6 were pretty meager with only a handful of roots and tiny crowns. It’s normal to get some weak crowns in a bare root bundle, but I was a little surprised so many were so small that it was hard to plant them so that the crowns were above soil and the roots were below. I will try to remember to update the review when they’ve had a chance to wake up and grow.

They didn’t look much when arrived, but ALL survived and starting to put out new leaves. Can’t wait to see what they taste like!

Yes, the roots arrived in one big bunch—but I soaked them before planting and found them very easy to separate. Planted in a shallow channel like shown in Raintree’s video, and every root quickly put out new growth. (I actually got tons of strawberries that first season, and they really were delicious!)

Fast forward to this year: a few strawberry plants fell victim to wild animals last year (squirrels and rabbits), but the rest are back with a vengeance. We’re talking leaves half the size of my foot, tons of new foliage, and hardier than I could have asked for. I can’t wait to see how many berries I get this year!

They came very hard to separate or identify crowns. It came as a bundled heap that wasn't the result of shipping. Was unfortunate as Raintree has always had good product.

Update from last review: most of the plants died, which isn't too surprising considering the state they were in. Planted them in a greenstalk along with some strawberries from a different site and some I grew from seed, the other two varieties are thriving while I estimate only around 5 of these plants actually made it. Maybe the taste is out of this world, can't speak on that yet, but I am pretty disappointed with how little are left.
