Fragaria ananassa 'Seascape'

Each cluster of this highly productive, everbearing variety produces an impressive center berry that is ideal for dipping in chocolate. All up and down the West Coast, backyard strawberry aficionados are raving about its excellent flavor, large size and disease resistance. Plants don't need much chill to set fruit, so berries ripen early and continue to appear non-stop over a long season, from June to October. Proven successful in California and the Pacific Northwest, this day-neutral variety is sure to entice gardeners in other parts of the nation too. Shipped as 25 bareroot crowns.

    Any of them will work well, I'd go with another everbearing variety like Albion since Seascape will continue to flower all summer, ensuring pollination the whole time.

    Spring time is best, but with enough water anytime of year is doable.

Good, but I got a lot more green than red

Good, but I got a lot more green than red. I have grown Seascape berries for four years in large containers. They have generally done well in terms of plant health and overwinter survivability here in the PNW. They green up nicely in April and begin producing berries by June. The downside is the sparsity of berries produced and the small size of the berries. Many if not most are irregularly shaped and small, dime sized. I water and tend them regularly and have begun recently heading off runners to help concentrate strength for fruiting. I lightly fertilized in April. They do produce through the fall, but sparsely. The plants themselves look great, very green and healthy, throwing off runners. I must have missed something to help them in fruiting. Taste is good, but with over a hundred container plants, I had hoped for more than 15 or 20 berries twice a week for my cereal.

I picked my order up from raintree in person

I picked my order up from Raintree in person. the bare root plants were of good size and all but one is beginning to leaf. very satisfied.

Strawberries, heaven

I have moved from the NW to SE Texas. Haven't had a really good strawberry since. These bare root plants look healthy and they are planted per instructions. Now I need to be patient and wait. I have never planted strawberries, but followed directions and am waiting for the fruits of my labors.

Just fine but a slack pack.

I got 2 bundles of 25 strawberry plants. Each bundle had only 16 even after being very careful to seperate them. The 16 of each are doing fine. I lookk forward to summer dreams of eating strawberries and letting my little grandson "help" me.
