Amazing flavor, beautiful color and disease resistance?!? Who could want more? Bred by Drs. Crista and Manfred Fischer at the Dresden-Pillnitz program in the former East Germany, the beautiful Releika combines disease resistance with the irresistible, complex flavor of Cox’s Orange Pippin (one of its parents).

A mid-season bloomer, each year you will enjoy your tree loaded with medium size, dark red apples that are firm and juicy. These beauties ripen mid-fall and keep well.

Perfect for the backyard grower.

This is a great apple, the tree stays small, but is loaded with apples. No disease issues, somewhat susceptible to coddling moth (in an urban setting) and great flavor if you like sweet red apples. This is one of the first trees to bloom in my (25 apple variety) orchard, and I’d say is among my early apples, not my late apples. Brix at 15 on August 26th this year (typically I harvest this apple the first week of September) in Portland Oregon right at the end of Summer Break, in time to send little apples to school with your little people.
