Malus domestica 'Wynoochee Early'

A flavorful, large, red-and-yellow apple that ripens for us in mid August and is highly scab resistant. It has proven to thrive in maritime and even coastal areas. Despite ripening early it keeps for months! A sweet and tart mixture of flavors makes it good for fresh eating, pies, or sauce.

The tree is spreading and a vigorous grower, with great scab resistance. Discovered as chance seedling near Aberdeen WA, in Southwest Washington state. On EMLA 26 dwarf rootstock.

Wynooche early is a medium sized crisp sweet mid early season apple, extremely disease resistant and productive tree. It has a small stature and apples should be pinched off while the tree is young to allow it to grow as much as desired otherwise can stunt and just go into production mode Everyone who has tasted this likes it, though does not have a complex flavor profile. If you are looking to add an early season apple to your orchard or to sell, this will be a winner.
