Malus domestica 'Enterprise'

Enterprise apples are glossy red with yellow highlights, and have an excellent sprightly flavor! They ripen late in the apple season and are fantastic keepers with a taste that improves and matures in storage.

Enterprise is a productive, fast-growing tree with a vigorous, spreading habit. Completely immune to apple scab, and very resistant to fireblight, cedar apple rust, and mildew, Enterprise apples are proven winners and heavy producers in most of the United States!

  • I live in Astoria, OR, would we get enough chilling hours right on the coast for the Enterprise apple?

    Absolutely!

  • What are the chill hours required?

    Average, about 800.

  • Would this work in zone 7a/7b?

    Absolutely yes

  • Can I cross pollinate with honey crisp?

    Yes it can!

  • Just to be sure, what is the approximate mature height and width of mini-dwarf apple trees?

Roughly 6 feet by 6 feet.

  • Do your bare root dwarf versions of these enterprise apples ship during spring. This is my understanding but want to confirm. Thanks

Yes, they are shipping now and through the end of May.

  • How do I know which root stock im getting? Ordering is very confusing compared to previous years. I cant select the root that i want.

Rootstocks are listed on the page, but in case you don't know which is which: M111 is the semi-dwarf, M26 is the dwarf, and M27 is the mini dwarf.

  • Hi there! I am looking at two varieties at the moment, wondering if they are A) available and B) correct choices for cross-pollination. Interested in a dwarf Enterprise and a dwarf Cherry Cox. Also wondering what the ripening time is. It would be better if the ripening time was same or similar on the two varieties.

They should cross pollinate fine. Check out our Apple Growing Guide for a list of pollination and ripening times for most of our apples.

  • how tall is the tree when shipped? and how many years to bear fruit?

4'-5' feet when shipped and 3 years old. If on a dwarf stock it will take 2-3 years to mature and bear fruit.
