This unique almond tree boasts extreme winter hardiness, so it can grow and fruit successfully far to the north of where other commercial varieties have frozen out. It is a true almond with a thin, well-sealed shell and a sweet kernel. In areas with wet springs, it is prone to brown rot and other fungal problems, so this is a great variety for cold and dry spring regions. Titan blooms very late for an almond and can be pollinized by any late blooming almond or by most peaches.

    Titan is a sweet almond yes, no worries.

  • Would a Betty Peach pollinate this almond tree? How far apart can I plant it from the peach tree for successful pollination? Zone 7a, NJ

    Possibly yes, depending on your area (climate can affect bloom times). Within 100 feet should be fine, what's more important is that the flowers are open at the same time.

  • After the tree is mature size how many pounds of almonds will this tree produce?

    A healthy tree, at full size, should produce an average of 50-60 lbs of almonds per year.

  • It says growing height 20', but it also says dwarf 4-5' What height could I expect?

    4'-5' when shipped, 20' when fully grown.

  • Does the Reliable tree a pollinizer for this tree?

I ve ordered other almond varieties and have had success with Raintree, so I ordered two (2) Titan bareroot almonds. Arrived, much as they do, looking like sticks and I did exactly the same as I had with my previous bareroot almonds I d ordered. As time goes on, no change, nothing noticeable going on above ground, I m just looking at sticks .

Having seen other almonds go from sticks to beautiful trees, I waited, as patiently as I could. Ultimately, nothing happened and they were pulled in 2022.

I speculate that in 2021 when I received the Titan s - the other part of my order (a Hall s Hardy almond) - was cancelled due to a crop failure (or some such thing). While disappointing, it happens, and Raintree refunded my money for the Hall s Hardy, and shipped my remaining order which included the Titans. I am left to speculate if those Titan s I received weren t the healthiest of trees to begin with (possibly?) - and as such, failed to thrive where I ve previously had very good luck with almonds in general (3 for 3 on 1st order, 0/2
