Robinia pseudoacacia 'Frisia'

The bright yellow foliage throughout the growing season makes this tree stand out like a shimmering beacon. This oval-shaped tree, to 40' tall, is widely adapted to heat or cold. It is a black locust with pretty compound leaves, white flowers and thorns on the smaller wood. This is a very fast-growing tree that has many uses - it's a nitrogen fixer and a good choice to plant with Black walnut or Chestnut in a woodlot. The wood is famously rot resistant, and makes dense, long-burning firewood. Flowers are excellent bee forage. 

In a woodlot or as a windbreak, plant trees 10 feet apart. It grows too big (40' or more) to make a good hedge. Trees can begin to be thinned and harvested for firewood and rot resistant posts in 8 to 12 years. The thorny trees will send up root suckers which also grow into trees (although suckers will be green, not gold), even after a mature tree is cut. This way they replant themselves.

This company is unethical, won't replace dead "tree" I paid $110 in total (no root stick)

This company is unethical, & only cares avout the initial sale. Sold me a dead bare root Frisia Gold Locust Tree. They tell me if there is green when you scratch its alive. Well dug up the dead stick they sold me, and not a single living root to be seen after over two months in the ground. Raintree scam artists tells me if there is green when u scratch iy arrived alive & as such they would not replace. What a scam, the irrony is that I am a landscape business owner & Horticulturest. Stay far away, will update with pics. Arrogant and unethical company!! Shame on you Raintree!!

Bought 2 But Only One Actually Made it…

Bought 2 but only one actually made it. Planted both and only one broke dormancy. Unfortunately went on a trip, which delayed me figuring out it wasn’t actually alive until right outside the 30 day window, so they wouldn’t give me any credit or replacement. Guess I will just have to use the survivor to create my own replacement. Seems odd that Raintree only offers a 30 day warranty, when just about everyone else in the business offers 1 year.
