  • Hello, Way back in 2016 I bought and planted two Puget Gold Apricots on my property in Trout Lake, Washington. They did OK (slow growth, good leafing), but both died this spring...I thought. One of the two has been sending up sprouts and I am guessing these are coming from the root stock (Lovell on the tag). Shall I let these grow or dig it up? Is Lovell a good peach tree? I don't want to keep hoping for a miracle. A nice apple could fill this spot.

    Lovell is a good peach, but it bears sparsely and unrelibaly which is why it's used as a rootstock.

Not very happy.

We ordered 1/4 inch Lovell rootstocks but what we got was significantly smaller than advertised. This made things quite difficult as the scions we received from another company were ordered to match the 1/4 inch rootstocks we ordered.
