A self-fertile variety of sweet cherry with large, dark red fruit of excellent flavor. This tree is a very consistent and heavy bearer. It has wide adaptability through the nation.

Lapins trees are bacterial canker and crack resistant, and it needs only 500 chill hours!

    If you are north of Gainesville, I'd say you could successfully grow Lapins.

    It will grow, though not as well as pie cherries like Montmorency. On a Gisela stock they should start fruiting within 2-3 years.
