Fragaria x ananassa 'Quinault'

Developed by our friends at Washington State University, this everbearing variety is legendary for its outstanding disease resistance, as well as for the large, soft, delectable berries it produces all summer and into fall. Most berries are up to 2" wide! Berries are also produced on unrooted runners, so this variety is especially impressive when grown in pots - the fruit cascades down each side, as well as setting from the crown! Shipped as 25 bareroot crowns.

Unusually cold-tolerant; great for Northern gardeners!

USDA Zone: 4-9

Grow Height:  1' or smaller (Groundcover)

Sun: Full Sun

Ripening Time: June - September

Berry plants

They are great plants, they will produce well as the other Quinalts have. We will enjoy them all season throughout summer and early fall!
I was however 2 plants short of twenty five however.

Bareroot shipment strawberries

The root stock was received and planted straight away in a plastic container tower on drip irrigation. The number of plants was right but root development was highly variable. There were 3 that wowed and the rest that followed a declining straight line graph. Otherwise I'm excited for the dilemma of producing too many strawberries this season.
