Yes, as soon as you can
Do you offer a wholesale price for your red rhubarb nroots?
No, we don't at this time.
I have bought rhubarb plants from Raintree in the past and they outperformed the ones I bought locally. These are planted and I can't wait for them to produce stalks. I have not grown rhubarb in zone 10 before, but I believe they are planted in an ideal spot with morning sun and afternoon shade.
I've had 3 of these plants for several years now and just added 3 more. Plants arrived with small knobby buds at the end and within ~10 days leaves are starting to pop. I look forward to lots more rhubarb! I have them planted as a front edge to an ornamental terrace and they look great and taste even better. Thank you Raintree!
Some reviews had me worried, but I took the large knobby root I got and put it in a bucket to soak for a couple hours before I planted it up. It’s been a couple months now and small leaves are poking through and growing so I’m hoping it took! Won’t be able to tell the taste of this rhubarb versus other varieties I have until years down the line… but hopefully this one is a good one!
Just planted it a couple of weeks ago. Rhubarb crown was very large, thick and healthy looking with many growing "points". A couple of small leaf buds have started growing healthily at this point. I'm very optimistic.
I would like to tell you that I put the so- called root in the ground here and I live in a rural NJ place and it did nothing. I dug down after awhile and saw that the root did sprout any shoots , roots ... nothing. When I got this root it was barely wrapped in a small piece of brown paper and just put in a rectangular box, with no other protection wrapping on it. I was extremely disappointed.
