Oleo europa 'Leccino'

Now you can grow the olives they grow in Italy! Leccino is one of the primary cultivars used in Italian olive oil production; best known for its Tuscan origin and delicate flavor profile. While it originated in Tuscany, it is now grown all over the world and has proven itself in California and the Southwest.

Many mild winter gardeners will grow the bush for its evocative, silver/green leaves that persist all year, without attempting to ripen the fall berries that would be pressed into oil or cured for the table. Gardeners in colder zones can bring the pruned, potted tree indoors for the winter and enjoy the atmosphere of the Mediterranean all year round!

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Not sure if I already asked this but what polinator do you recommend for the Leccino olive that you sell and that would stand up to the brutal sun and heat of zone 8a South Carolina?

Both Arbequina and Maurino olives will cross pollinate and do fine in your climate

  • Can you recommend Zone 8+ pollinator that you sell for the Leccino Olive?

The Arbequina olive is your best bet for a good pollination partner.
