Mioga Hardy Ginger

The buds of myoga are used in Japanese cooking. Both the buds and the plants are very difficult to find, and when I have seen the buds in a produce aisle they are ridiculously expensive. I bought one plant to determine its condition, and was so happy I purchased two more. All of the plants arrived in pots and in excellent condition.

Mioga ginger is definitely good down to a zone 6 for sure! I've been growing it for years (NE Ohio) in several different locations, I would say it would probably go to a zone 5 with some heavy mulching. The only casualties I've had are ones that didn't plant and overwintered in nursery pots.

The ginger came timely and was very well packaged. It was already growing in the pot it arrived in so it was planted right away. Very happy with purchase and it was worth the price.

Bought one plant in 2022.
It wintered over and has spread here in zone 7
Low this winter close to zero F with wind added on top of that.
Ordered and received two more plants here in 2023
Planted under a couple of peach trees so they will provide some shade.
Expect to see some flowers this year so as to taste test.
So far so good.

Do not buy from this company; they've done nothing to resolve the issue of not sending me anything except for 1 out of 6 things I ordered last winter
