Golden Transparent European Plum

My tree is several years old about 10 feet tall. It had some issues with Black Knot, but with trimming and spraying, I have eliminated any signs of infection. The tree looks healthy but it is producing hardly any blossoms. Those blossoms never develop into fruit. The tree is supposed to be self-pollinating, but I have yet to see a fruit.

Just got it, 5 stars so far. Delivered quickly and in good condition, per usual from Raintree Nusery. I was glad to see it was more than a stick with roots, which I get from other Nurseries. It has many healthy branches that are already putting out shoots and leaves. I got it for it's own yummy fruit and to pollinate my Mirabelle plums. I like that it is a late bloomer, no late frost damage and plums in September would be lovely. Crossing fingers that it does well.

Although this tree from you has not produced any fruit for many years, I hesitate to pull it out as it is an attractive tree. Being self fruitful, I should have had more than the two or three plums I got this year and even less in the past. I have a wild plum nearby, but only a Shiro that is doing quite well. This lack of fruit remains a mystery.

Fruit trees take a few years to adapt to my windy coastal site with its sandy, quick-draining soil. European plums do better than most, and i realized last spring that they were among the most beautiful trees in my orchard, so I added more this year.
