74-32 Hardy Male Kiwi
Actinidia arguta
74-32 male hardy kiwi vine starts flowering earlier than our other hardy male kiwi (H440), making it an excellent pollinizer for early-flowering hardy female kiwis such as Cordifolia, Ken's Red and Dumbarton Oaks. Its bloom season continues long enough to also pollinize our other female hardy kiwis. Not a good pollinizer for the later-flowering fuzzy kiwis.
Male hardy kiwis will usually take 3-5 years to mature to flowering age, and can stretch up to 40' long. Plant in fertile, well-drained soils and full-to-part sun; hardy kiwis prefer a little afternoon shade in hotter regions. Male plants will flower, but do not set fruit. One male can produce enough pollen to pollinize up to 8 female fruiting plants.
