Hardy to USDA Zone 5, Apple Roses thrive equally well in full sun and partial shade, producing sweet single pink flowers with a light fragrance. Rosa pomifera forms a stately shrub, reaching 6 to 7 feet in height and width and its large, gray-green leaves are outstanding in spring.

Sweet and Simplee

I planted 2 Rosa pomefera a couple months ago. They started blooming a few days ago. The small, simple pink and yellow blooms are beautiful. This particular rose was chosen for its promised large rose hips. I have my rose hip jelly recipe ready and look forward to sipping on rose hip tea. They're placed near our raspberry garden with a bench in front to provide a bit of shade while sitting and munching on berries. Can't wait to see these bushes in their full glory.
