Atlas F1 Asparagus
Asparagus officinalis 'Atlas F1'
Atlas F1 asparagus is a high-performing, robust variety that yields abundantly. It produces medium to large green spears with a subtle purple hue on the tip and base. The tightly formed spears have a smooth appearance and are cylindrical in shape. This variety is resistant to common diseases in the asparagus plant, such as fusarium, rust, blight, and cercospora.
Plant in full sun soil with neutral ph and excellent drainage - approximately 12"-18" between crowns and rows 3'-4' apart. Crowns should be buried in furrows 8"-10" below soil level and initially covered by 2" of soil; continue to fill in the channel as the upright spears extend but do not cover the spear tips at any point. Feed and water carefully for first 2 years of establishment - harvests may begin at year 3 after planting. Atlas F1 is especially well-suited to warmer spring climates.
