Vasconcellea x heilbornii

An ideal edible and ornamental houseplant, hardy to 28° F. Pronounced buh-BAH-co, it has a beautiful trunk and tropical leaves and is easily grown in a 15-gallon container. The plant grows to 6' tall and produces several amazing ten inch long, bright yellow, delicious papaya fruits each year. One gallon size.

Excellent plant. The item was shipped and packed well.

The tree sent was right size 4.5ft , healthy. It lost some leaves due to packaging but its understandable transit in box for few days. I transplanted onto 15g pot and is doing well.

My initial reaction was low since the tree sustained some damage in shipping. After losing a couple leaves and taking a couple weeks to settle in, it's finally started to look like it might regain its health. It was a decent size and since it rebounded well enough, I'm giving it four stars instead of the three I might have given it a week ago.

Babaco Papaya Freeze-damaged

Unfortunately, the plant arrived with severe freeze damage from the long shipment to Georgia. Damage was extensive to the tip and at least 10 inches down the trunk.
