Beni Shogun Apple
Malus domestica 'Beni Shogun'
Beni Shogun is a good friend to have - a sport of the ever-popular Fuji variety, scab and mildew resistant and a great choice for the organic grower! The fruit, which ripens in early Fall (almost a full month before Fuji!), is a pleasing dark red color and has an excellent, sweet, juicy flavor. Enjoy it fresh, made into a wonderful cider, or kept in a box for months.
Considered low chill, due to its Fuji parentage; needs approx 500 hours to successfully produce blossoms and fruit. Bloom category 3 mid-season. Hardy to USDA zone 5.
