Bluegold Blueberry
Vaccinium corymbosum 'Bluegold'
Another heritage favorite, Bluegold has produced very heavy crops of exceptionally sweet, flavorful fruit to enjoy midseason for over 100 years! The beautiful, spreading, rounded bush grows shorter than most vintage varieties, only four to six feet tall, but bears large clusters of easy-to-pick, medium-to-large size berries that all ripen together, with only 1 or 2 pickings needed. Unusual yellow fall foliage and yellow winter wood followed by bright white spring flowers make Bluegold a year-round beauty.
Requires standard 800-1000 chill hours to bloom and set fruit reliably. Acidic soils with ph of 4.5, regular water, and heavy mulch will keep this heritage Northern highbush happy and productive.
