Prunus persica 'Bonanza'

Mini but mighty! A true genetic dwarf that offers luscious peaches ripening early for hot climate growers, and guaranteed to ripen even in short summer areas. Medium-to-large fruit is so prolific it will need thinning! Yellow, freestone flesh and yellow skin blushed with red make this a pretty tree, complimenting the large, hardy leaves and cheery pink blooms in early spring.

Low chill and only requires 250 chill hours to reliably bloom and set fruit. Can be easily covered to protect from peach leaf curl. High head pruned for trunk only 18" tall.

Hardy to: USDA Zone 6

Mature Height:  5'- 6' (Mini Dwarf)

  • I have a Bonanza Miniature Peach Tree I purchased at Costco a few months ago. There are several new branches growing out of the base of the tree. Are these suckers that need to be removed or do I just let them grow?

    They should be removed or you may lose the graft and be left with rootstock.

  • Can this minature variety be espalier trained?

    Yes. It will need all the same wiring and support as any other espalier.

  • How do you prune a minature peach tree?

    Pretty much like an other peach tree, it's just smaller!

  • Is this in a pot or bare root?

    Bareroot only.

  • CAN THIS PEACH BE CONTAINER GROWN

    Yes!

Bonanza Miniature Peach

Beautiful tree. I planted it right away, 11 days ago. It's pretty tall already at 3 feet. The was in great shape when it arrived. Bud break has already started here in Northern California, you can see the green peeking out of the buds. It's fine just like the other dozen trees I have purchased from Raintree. I recommend you to my friends. Karl
