Bushel and Berry® Perpetua® Blueberry
Vaccinium x 'Perpetua'
Enjoy TWO crops of flavorful blueberries each year with Perpetua®! This fascinating new edible ornamental is the first to provide 2 tasty crops of dainty berries per year. In Oregon, where this cultivar was perfected, the cultivar flowers in April with other blueberry cultivars, ripens a crop of small fruit in late June, and then begins flowering on new growth in July–August with a second crop in August–September. The plants are a compact 4'-5' tall, with lustrous dark green foliage that turns a dusky burgundy in fall and lasts throughout the winter in all but the coldest regions.
Developed at Oregon State University in 2005, as a cross of the species angustifolium and corymbosum. The vase-shaped bush is hardy, disease resistant and widely adapted. Thrives in the same highly organic, low ph soils as all other blueberries.
Bushel and Berry® is a unique collection of compact, ornamental and self-pollinating berry plants for the home garden.
